About Volunteering

Being listened to without judgement can transform a person’s life. Be part of our nationwide volunteer team and make a difference.

The LGBT Ireland helpline is run through a network of trained volunteers based in eight local helplines across the country.  Our volunteers come from all walks of life, with one thing in common, we all identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and/or Transgender and want to give something back to our community.

We currently have over 60 volunteers around the country, who work together to provide confidential listening, support and information to LGBT people and their families and friends, seven days a week.

The work is very rewarding and only requires a commitment of six hours per month.
